The evening light was fading and a fog hovered over the lake--the type of heavy, moist fog that surrounds you and wrings the heat from your body if you're not careful. I abandoned any dinner responsibilities I might have had that evening to get a few quick shots before the light faded entirely.
I wanted to take advantage of the eerie yet calm feeling the fog evoked. I knew the fog would give me a nice soft light but wasn't sure if it would blur the photos too much. The long exposure time required in the fleeting light helped to smooth the water and blend it seamlessly into the sky.
We ate a late dinner that evening... and it tasted amazing.
